The UKPA Open 2016 was held in Croydon on February 27th-28th. As an intermission between the competition and the ceremonies there are team rounds to keep the competitors busy so they don't cause any trouble. I provided one of the team rounds.
The concept of this team round is a bit easier than last year's. All puzzles in this set are unique by themselves. The interaction between the puzzles doesn't come till you have solved them. I tried to rank the puzzles so people could divide the puzzles between their solvers appropriately. Once you've solved all puzzles the second step of the solve comes into play. You have to divide all puzzles in three sets of 4 puzzles, one from each genre, so that all solutions, when placed on top of each other, use every cell at least once. I thought it would be an interesting idea and I think it worked out well.
I uploaded two versions of the team round onto the drive. The files contain a detailed example of the round structure. File #1 has all puzzles of the genre on a single page, easier when solving alone. File #2 has each puzzle on a single page, easier when solving together with others.

14th 24 Hour Puzzle Championship
This year I wrote a set of puzzles together with Hns Eendebak. I was a bit tight on time with a holiday and other championships that I wasn't sure if I'd be able to write everything in time. I still ran a bit late getting everything together but it was in time for the championship.
This year's championship was won by Peter Hudak. Nikola Zivanovic and Zoltan Horvath finished second and third.
There were 30 competitors total in this year's championship, of which 29 did our set. The set was a bit on the long side this year with the Michael Mosshammer from Austria being the top scorer with 695 points. It would have been better if the top scorer had about 100-150 points more. The set contained 24 puzzles in total, so I should have probably cut 2 puzzles in the end.
In this post I will be adding all the puzzles I wrote. You can find the complete set and all other sets here. If you need to see the instruction booklets for any of the set you can find them in this forum post.

Puzzle #149: Bosnian Road
Happy New Years Australia.
This is one of the new types to my blog in this set. I hadn't made any of these puzzles before this one. Again my first choice of digit worked out. I had seen Prasanna Seshadri make some good use of the number 4 in one of his puzzles, so figured this number might work. Took a while to get it right though as the number didn't let itself be unique that easily. It's the number which has the most possible configurations in this genre. It took a while to get the end right, but I thought the opening was really solid, so I wasn't going to give up on the opening and eventually i found a nice way to get it unique.
It's easy/medium difficulty. The opening is fairly standard, but it has a few trickier steps in the middle. Just for the fun of it, count the length of the loop in the end. It's purely coincidental, but I thought it was funny none-the-less.
4 - Bosnian Road
Draw a single closed one-cell wide loop, that doesn't touch itself, not even diagonally. The loop doesn't go through clue cells. The clues indicate how many of the 8 cells around it are used by the loop
